Night
In the thick of darkness
bleak and damp
I search for a light
luminous shimmer; a glow
Nothing stares back
empty ebony, mocking me
God is gone as I linger alone
Repetitive robotic motions
second nature lacluster thought
Am I here? Was I ever here?
My head touches the pillow
heavy eyes struggling to close
Erasing thoughts in a haze of slumber
I hope

Lucidity
Adrift on lipid pools of crystal.
Am I dreaming?
Mirrored waters reveal serendipitous truth.
Am I dreaming?
Alone, paralysis of mind, I stare.
Lucidity.
Open eyes must move mind and soul.
Can I awaken?

Adrift on lipid pools in dreams

Alone, paralysis of mind
needed strength in the face of lucidity
The Bard
He stands upon the precipice.
Zeus to we mere mortals,
etching the side of each icy mountain peak.
Torturous, beautiful truths of human light echo.
Viola my soul.
I beseech thee more.

Undine Rising
Beauty, Ivory marble flesh
Thin veil of silk clinging, supple,
wrapping her in flowing majesty.
"Rising from the Waters"?
Magnificent purity, serenity, body divine
Come closer.
Touch her glory, caressing, cold divine stone.
Secrets, dreams, desires beneath?
Taunting with luminous eyes?
Hands up reached striving to the light, through the supple water,
to the serendipitous awaiting above.
Untouchable beneath.
The great wall, marble serenity.
All that merits the touch.
Life
Driftwood travailing a harsh, wonderous sea.
Poseiden's ocean.
The Will of the Gods toying, testing...
Time somberly splintering and splitting.
Cautious necessity
ensuring a survival of the whole.
Time.
Seasons.
Crashing Foamy Fists of pressure.
Waves crash sapphire and black
as the fiery sun rises and sets.
The burn of a Blacksmith's pyre.
Seasons turn.
Time, fire and trial chiseling true form.
Fiercely bidding coal surrender its diamond.
Neptune relinquishes the same.
Her true form
carved and shaped by the sea and sand.
A wayward floating form, foam embracing,
lovingly placing,
cooling its bounty upon the shore.
No longer wood nor child nor coal
harder than diamond, softer than silk.
Truth of spirit etched of survival.
